Video: Fluffy Lumbers

The first thing I did when I woke up this morning was watch this video. It almost made of for the fact that I lost an hour of sleep last night because of daylight savings. Once again, Ray Concepcion delivers with another astounding video featuring Fluffy Lumbers.

MIDI Drift

I'm quickly figuring out that the more Games there is in my life, the happier I am. They just dropped a little mixtape the other day and I found another track on Get Off The Coast, which I'm going to politely borrow.  You must read the groups description or "think tank" they had in mind while creating this song. Absolutely Priceless

This track began as a video concept in which Joel and I are 90s high tech corporate dads, except our cubicles are party jam stations comprised of drum machines and synths and tactical flowcharts on how to make the best possible music ever. We meet by the water cooler and I give Joel a folder that says PROGRAM A JAM on it and i point at my watch, like ‘Get it done by 5 dude or my goose is cooked.’ later on Joel bumps into a ~really~ fine girl in the hallway and her folders fly everywhere. She ends up taking the PROGRAM A JAM folder and he takes one that says TOP SECRET KGB STUFF on it. He takes it back to his desk and send me links to hot pics of said babe getting railed by the boss in the boiler room. We go to Chilis at some point probably. The babe keeps getting hotter/more naked and is seen programming hot jams with a Jupiter 8 after-hours. We are wearing uncool jeans and corporate fleece pullovers and have salt & pepper beards. Content at a job well done, we respectively drive off into the sunset in matching Camrys.

Pure Ecstasy

I still haven't heard a song by Pure Ecstasy that I didn't like. They are one of my favorite bands at the moment who just happened to release another song "Voices" yesterday. It will be on their Voices/Alexandria 7" later this month which you can pre-order here. You might remember their Yours Truly video I posted a while back of "Easy," so be sure to revisit or discover that here.

Here We Go Magic

I can't lie, when I saw Here We Go Magic open for Grizzly Bear last summer, it kind of put a bad taste in my mouth. Something about their performance just really bugged me and my buddy who was also in attendance. However, I've found it really hard to dislike their music outside of their live performance.  Their new track "Collector" doesn't cease to amaze. This doesn't mean I'm going to go see them the next time they roll into town, but I'll still buy their new album Pigeons due June 8th on Secretly Canadian. The album artwork is sensational by the way.

Video: Foals - "Spanish Sahara"

Foals are definitely in my top 5 favorite bands and hopefully you'll see why with this video/song. It appears they're embracing a new sound, which excites me. Considering how much I spun their first record, I can barely stand the wait for their second album, Total Life Forever, due May 10th on Sub Pop (US) and Transgressive (UK).
